Listen to that little voice within. The time is ripe.
Does your throat ever feel tight when you express yourself? As if something is binding it, making it physically hard for you to speak or sing? Does it hurt? Do you feel a similar contraction somewhere else in your body? Maybe in your belly? This story is so very common. It's incredible how much these contractions effect the rest of one's life. Creative blocks... sexual blocks... blocks around money... stress... anxiety... depression... starting a creative project then stopping... relationship issues... the list goes on. If this resonates with you, you've come to the right place.
What causes this block/contraction? Most often, the contraction stems from a disembodiment of the voice from the rest of the body. It's my belief that our human bodies are designed to sing and to dance, and that sound and fluid movement are tools for us to reconnect to our essence when we are disconnected. Founder's story: Until I was 26, my throat was still contracted. When I would go to speak, I would feel as if I would leave my body... my arms would feel like dead limbs and I would loose all sense of my feet and legs. I would feel beyond nervous... as if I was going to be punished. I was a singer/songwriter and had been studying voice since I was eight years old with private teachers as well as completing a bachelors degree in Musical Theatre at Ball State University, but my speaking voice was "stuck" in my upper register. My singing voice would sometimes feel pleasurable, when I could remember to connect my voice to the rest of my body. When I was 22, I had a voice teacher who connected the dots between my body and my singing voice-- she would invite me to move my body in all sorts of yoga poses while I was performing in my vocal performance masterclass. But until I was 26, my life felt stuck. I never felt as if I belonged... I was continually searching for home. It was through the birth of my first child that my "root" opened and healed, and my voice dropped deeper into my body. I received a huge download through that birthing portal-- that the voice isn't separate from the rest of the body! The body is the voice. That's what I teach here-- helping my clients to "tune up" their bodies in correspondence to their lives. Your body is your instrument.
Beyond a voice lesson, beyond a life coaching session... this work will bring you home to yourself.
Embodied Voice has helped to bring back the voices for so many people. I have witnessed many mini miracles in my clients... uncompleted books completed, a retreat center manifested, multiple people now leading workshops and conferences, performing live music, communicating with the spouse without arguing... the list goes on and on.
